Terokal 9225 is a polyurethane two-component adhesive that cures at room temperature. It is fast-curing for about 1.5 hours. To accelerate the curing process, it is recommended to increase the temperature (to 60°C - 70°C). The product is supplied in classic double cartridges and is fast-curing. Terokal - 9225 can be coated with the following products: Terotex Super 3000, Variodur klasik, Variodur aqua and can be painted with commonly available paints used in the automotive industry. Before applying Terokal - 9225, it is absolutely necessary to use Terokal - 150 primer. It is recommended to use a galvanized sheet metal strip as a reinforcement. Terokal - 9225 is used in car repair shops for repairing bumpers, trim and other plastic parts, e.g.: PP/EPDM, SMC, PC, PA, ABS and PUR.

Before application:

• Cleaning- Plastic parts must be free of oil, petroleum jelly, moisture, dust and other contaminants. It is recommended to use high-pressure cleaning for cleaning. After drying the parts (drying oven, infrared drying), use Cleaner - FL for cleaning. Hot air can be used to straighten deformed parts.

• Sanding and cleaning - Grind the edges of the repaired area to a wedge-shaped chamfer (1-2 cm/grit 120). If it is a crack, drill a hole at its end to prevent further spread of the crack. Roughen both sides. Clean both sides again with Cleaner - FL.

• Primer- Terokal - 150 is applied from an aerosol can to both sides in a thin layer. Before applying Terokal - 9225 glue, allow 10 - 15 minutes of evaporation time.

Glue application:

• Inserting the cartridge - Press the cap on the Teromix application gun up and pull the piston all the way back. Open the gun lid, turn it down and insert the cartridge into the lid. Close the lid with the cartridge. Remove the caps on the cartridge and extrude the product until the flow of both components is simultaneous. Then attach the static mixer and shorten the tip to the desired bead thickness.

• Applying Terokal - 9225 - When the gun is ready for use, the product is extruded through the static mixer and both components are evenly mixed. (Do not use the first 2 cm of extruded glue beads, the components may not be evenly mixed). After applying Terokal - 150, Terokal - 9225 is applied directly to the surface. Remove any unwanted excess product immediately after application. If you do not use up all the product, leave the static mixer attached to the cartridge. When using again, replace the old static mixer with a new one.

• Reinforcement- First apply Terokal - 9225 as two parallel beads to the back side of the plastic parts, which is adjacent to both sides of the crack (glued width min. 100 mm). To fix the crack with a galvanized sheet metal strip, place clamps at the beginning of the crack. Finally, apply Terokal - 9225 and smooth the surface. Make sure that the adhesive has passed through the crack to the front side to secure the joint and prevent air bubbles. For larger damage (e.g. hole) use reinforcing fabric without excluding the galvanized strip of sheet metal at the end of the hole. In case of simple cracks, Terokal - 9225 can be applied. Terokal - 9225 is applied in excess to the face side.

• During the application of Terokal - 9225, keep the tip of the mixing nozzle in the material to prevent the formation of air bubbles. Smooth the surface with a spatula. If it is a complicated joint, apply Terokal - 9225 in two steps - first from the back side. Only after the back side has hardened, apply Terokal - 9225 to the face side.

• Curing - Curing is possible at room temperature, to shorten the curing time, a higher temperature can be used. Place the parts glued with Terokal - 9225 in a drying oven heated to 60 ° C - 70 ° C for at least 15 min. (e.g.: drying oven, IČO heater).

• Cooling- For faster cooling to room temperature, cooling with water is recommended.

Before finishing:

• Sanding and cleaning - Sand off excess glue from the front side (grit 120). Then sand the surface smooth (grit 180/240) and remove any dust. Finally, clean the sanded surface with Cleaner - FL.

• Primer - Treat the repaired area with Terokal-150 Primer from an aerosol can (spray a thin layer). Evaporation time: 10 -15 min.

• Smoothing and filling- Perform further processing (e.g. filling) according to the instructions of the plastic coating manufacturer.

Finishing:

• Primer Terokal - 150 from an aerosol can. Evaporation time: 10 -15 min.

• Structural coating- The original texture of the plastic part can be restored/created using Terotex - Super 3000, Variodur klasik, Variodur aqua coatings. Different textures can be obtained by using different pressures and different nozzle sizes. For further information, please refer to the technical data sheets of Terotex - Super 3000, Variodur klasik and Variodur aqua coatings. - Paint the bonded parts according to the instructions of the paint manufacturer.

Cleaning:

• Remove uncured material (e.g. cleaning tools, removing surface contamination, etc.) first by wiping and then using a suitable solvent (e.g. acetone, ethyl acetate, Cleaner - D). Cured adhesive can only be removed mechanically. If you are cleaning sealant/adhesive residues (e.g. after replacing a windshield), it is important to also read the instructions for use of this product.
