Teroson PU 9225 - 250 ml polyurethane two-component adhesive

• Sanding and cleaning - Grind the edges of the repaired area to a wedge chamfer (1-2 cm/grit 120). If it is a crack, drill a hole at its end to prevent the crack from spreading further. Roughen on both sides. Clean both sides again with Cleaner – FL.

• Primer - Terokal - 150 is applied from an aerosol can to both sides in a thin layer. Before applying Terokal - 9225 glue, allow 10 - 15 min to evaporate.

Glue application:

• Inserting the cartridge - Press the cap on the Teromix application gun up and pull out the piston. Open the gun lid, turn it down and insert the cartridge into the lid. Close the lid with the cartridge. Remove the caps on the cartridge and squeeze out the product until the flow of both components is simultaneous. Then attach the static mixer and shorten the tip to the desired bead thickness. When the gun is ready for use, the product is extruded through a static mixer and both components are evenly mixed. (Do not use the first 2 cm extruded beads of adhesive, the components may not be evenly mixed). After applying Terokal – 150, Terokal – 9225 is applied directly to the surface. Remove any unwanted excess product immediately after application. If you do not use up all the product, leave the static mixer attached to the cartridge. When using it again, replace the old static mixer with a new one.

• Reinforcement - First apply Terokal – 9225 as two parallel beads on the back side of the plastic parts, which is adjacent to both sides of the crack. To fix the crack with a galvanized strip of sheet metal, place clamps at the beginning of the crack. Finally, apply Terokal – 9225 and smooth the surface. Make sure that the adhesive has passed through the crack to the face side to secure the joint and prevent air bubbles. In case of major damage (e.g. a hole), use a reinforcing fabric without excluding the galvanized strip of sheet metal at the end of the hole. In case of simple cracks, Terokal – 9225 can be applied. Terokal – 9225 is applied in excess to the face side.

• When applying Terokal – 9225, keep the tip of the mixing nozzle in the material to prevent air bubbles. Smooth the surface with a spatula. In case of a complicated joint, apply Terokal – 9225 in two steps – first from the back side. Only after the back side has hardened, apply Terokal – 9225 to the front side.

• Curing - Curing is possible at room temperature, to shorten the curing time, a higher temperature can be used. Place the parts glued with Terokal – 9225 in a drying oven heated to 60 ° C - 70 ° C for at least 15 min. (e.g.: drying oven, IČO heater).

• Cooling - For faster cooling to room temperature, cooling with water is recommended.

Before finishing:

Sand off excess glue from the front side (grit 120). Then sand the surface smooth (grit 180/240) and remove any dust. Finally, clean the sanded surface with Cleaner – FL.

• Primer - Treat the repaired area with Primer Terokal-150 from an aerosol can (spray a thin layer). Evaporation time: 10 -15 min.

• Smoothing and filling - Carry out further processing (e.g. filling) according to the instructions of the plastic coating manufacturer.

Finishing:

• Structural coating - The original texture of the plastic part can be restored/created using Terotex – Super 3000, Variodur klasik, Variodur aqua coatings. Different textures can be achieved by using different pressures and nozzle sizes. For further information, please refer to the technical data sheets of Terotex - Super 3000, Variodur klasik and Variodur aqua. - Paint the bonded parts according to the paint manufacturer's instructions.
• Remove uncured material (e.g. cleaning work tools, removing surface contamination, etc.) first by wiping and then using a suitable solvent (e.g. acetone, ethyl acetate, Cleaner - D). Cured adhesive can only be removed mechanically. If you are cleaning seal/adhesive residues (e.g. after replacing a windshield), it is important to also read the instructions for use of this product.
