IDH 742582 Terostat PU 92 is a one-component polyurethane adhesive/sealant for gun application. It cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture to an elastic product. The skin formation time and the curing time depend on the humidity and temperature as well as the joint width. This time is shortened with increasing temperature and humidity, low temperatures and humidity slow down the curing process.

Terostat PU 92 has the following properties:

Terostat – PU 92 is used in cases where surface repainting is important. Terostat – PU 92 often replaces mechanical joining methods such as screws, rivets and welding. During the curing process, the joint must be fixed. The advantage of Terostat – PU 92 is that it simultaneously acts as a sealant and adhesive. Terostat – PU 92 is generally not suitable for structural joints.

Adhesion:

Surfaces must be clean, dry, oil-free and grease, dust and other impurities. To ensure good adhesion to, for example, glass, aluminium, stainless steel and plastics – ABS and PVC, we recommend using Terostat – 450 primer. Good adhesion is achieved without a primer to painted surfaces and wood. For raw sheets, it is recommended to roughen the surface. For materials not listed above, we also recommend carrying out a preliminary test. air guns). Air guns require a pressure of 2 to 5 bar. Low temperature of the sealant leads to an increase in viscosity, which is reflected in a reduced extrusion speed. This can be prevented by tempering the sealant before processing to normal temperature. Moisture condensation and dew may occur on substrates that are too cold. This must be prevented by tempering in time. Terostat – PU 92 can be smoothed using a spatula dipped in soapy water. To clean work tools from uncured material, use Cleaner - D.

Painting:

Terostat - PU 92 can be painted in an uncured state with one-component and two-component alkyd and acrylic paints. Curing is not stopped by repainting, only slowed down. Spray-on nitro varnishes or varnishes, thinners and accelerators containing alcohol are not compatible with Terostat - PU 92, they prevent its hardening.

Apply basic anti-corrosion coatings only to hardened Terostat - PU 92, putty. In the case of accelerating the hardening of the paint with an IR lamp or in an oven, the putty can be heated only after approximately 30 minutes, when the initial reactions have subsided. Uncured sealant can be heated to a maximum of 90°C for one hour.
