Product detailed description
Loctite UK 8303 B60/UK 5400 - 9 kg (also known as Macroplast UK 8303 B60, IDH 80098) is a two-component, solvent-free structural adhesive based on polyurethane. This adhesive is ideal for flexible, bend-resistant bonding of pre-treated metals, wood, plastics and rigid foams. After mixing the components, it creates a strong and elastic bond that does not show any measurable changes in volume. Due to its composition, it is suitable for use in the sandwich element, ship and insulation element manufacturing industries.
Advantages:
- Solvent-free adhesive with high strength and flexibility.
- Stable volume during curing, no h. metals, wood, plastics and rigid foams.
- Suitable for insulation elements with resistance up to -190 °C.
Technical parameters:
- Technology: Polyurethane
- Color: Component A - beige, component B - brown
- Mixing ratio (by weight): 6:1
- Mixing ratio (by volume): 4.4:1
- Consistency:
- Component A: pasty (specific gravity 1 B: thin liquid (viscosity 150 to 350 mPa.s, Brookfield, 20 °C)
- Mixed product: pasty mixture (viscosity 200,000 to 300,000 mPa.s, Brookfield, 25 °C)
75 minutes at 25 °C (210 g mixture) - Shear strength (steel/steel): >12 MPa according to EN 1465
- Temperature resistance: -40 °C to +80 °C
- Consumption: 200 to 500 g
Application:
- Loctite UK 8303 B60 is used for bonding pre-prepared metals, wood, plastics and rigid foams. It is suitable for the production of sandwich elements in the automotive, container and marine industries, as well as for insulation elements. It is also used in the repair of composite parts.
Typical properties:
- Before curing: Pasty mixture with high viscosity.
- After Hardness: Hard but flexible material with high strength, no bulk.
Use for application:
- The adhesive can be mixed by hand or using a two-component dosing system. After mixing, apply the mixture within the recommended pot life. It is recommended to ensure sufficient pressure on the bonded parts during curing.
Instructions for use:
- Prepare the surface by removing dirt, dust, oil and grease. The use of a primer will improve adhesion to metal surfaces.
- Mix components A and B in a ratio of 6:1 (by weight). Mix slowly and thoroughly to avoid air entrainment.
- Apply the mixture to the surface during the pot life (60 to 75 minutes).
- Make sure that the bonded parts are firmly pressed during curing, as of adhesive along the joint is a sign.
Use for application:
-
Surface preparation: For thorough degreasing and removal of dirt, use Loctite SF 7063 cleaner. If you are working with plastic materials, Loctite SF 7070 is the ideal choice, which ensures gentle but effective cleaning without damaging the surface.
Material: For thorough removal of old deposits and dirt, including oils, greases and other industrial dirt, use Loctite SF 7840. This universal water-based cleaner is biodegradable and is ideal for effective cleaning of various surfaces without damaging the material. -
Hand cleaning after work: After application, use Loctite SF 7850, which is suitable for effective hand cleaning. This biodegradable cleaner removes oils, greases and other contaminants. Loctite polyurethanes for easy selection.
Packaging: Loctite UK 8303 B60 is available in 9 kg packages.
Storage:
- Component A and B: Recommended storage temperature 15 to 30 °C,
