Product detailed description

Loctite UK 8101 -folder A(also known as Loctite 8101 or Macroplast UK 8101, IDH 178064) is a two-component, solvent-free polyurethane adhesive based on polyurethane. This adhesive consists of a resin (UK 8101) containing hydroxyl groups and hardeners (UK 5400 - not included) based on isocyanates, which, when mixed, form a strong and flexible bonding layer. The product is mainly used for bonding pre-treated metals, synthetic materials, wood and rigid foam, making it ideal for the production of sandwich structures used in the automotive, container and construction industries. solvents.

  • High bond strength with good elasticity.
  • Suitable for various materials, including metals, synthetic materials, wood and rigid foam.
  • Volume stability during curing, without measurable changes.
  • Technology: Polyurethane
  • Product type: Polyurethane adhesive
  • Curing: Polyaddition (mixing resin and hardener)
  • Color: Component A - cream, component B - brown
  • Mixing ratio (weight):
  • Consistency:
    • Component A: liquid (viscosity 6000 to 10000 mPa.s, Brookfield, 20 °C)
    • Component B: thin liquid (viscosity 40 to 350 mPa.s depending on variant, Brookfield (viscosity 800 to 2800 mPa.s, 25 °C)
  • Workability time: 2.5 to 4.5 minutes at 20 °C (125 g mixture)
  • Initial hardening: 15 to 25 minutes at 23 (steel/steel): >6 MPa according to EN 1465
  • Temperature resistance: -40 °C to +80 °C (short-term up to 120 °C)
  • Application: Loctite UK 8101 is best suited for automotive and end-to-end components in the construction industry. It is used for bonding pre-prepared metals, synthetic materials, wood and rigid foam. It is also used as a potting, filling and coating compound.

    Use for application:

    1. Surface preparation: Use Loctite SF 7063 cleaner to thoroughly degrease and remove dirt. If you are working with plastic materials, Loctite SF 7070 is the ideal choice, which ensures gentle but effective cleaning without damaging the surface.

      material:
To thoroughly remove old deposits and dirt, including oils, greases and other industrial dirt, use Loctite SF 7840. This water-based, all-purpose cleaner is biodegradable and ideal for effective cleaning of various surfaces without damaging the material.

    2. Cleaning hands after work: After finishing the application, use Loctite SF 7850 , which is suitable for effective hand cleaning. This biodegradable cleaner removes oils, greases and other dirt. Loctite polyurethanes for easy selection.

      Typical properties:

      • Before curing: The components have different viscosities (component A thicker than component B), after mixing it forms a homogeneous mixture.
      • After curing: Hard, elastic bonding agent.

Use for application: It is recommended to use either an automatic dosing device for two-component systems or manual applications using a spatula, roller or squeegee.

    3. If you are working with metal, the application of a suitable primer can improve the adhesion and long-term stability of the joint.
    4. Mix component A thoroughly before use.
    5. Mix components A and B in a ratio of 4:1. Mix slowly and thoroughly to avoid air entrainment.
    6. Mix only the amount that you can apply during the pot life (2.5 to 4.5 minutes at 20 °C).
    7. Apply the mixture to the surface and ensure sufficient pressure and contact between the bonded parts. The adhesive can be removed before curing, after curing the adhesive can only be removed mechanically.

Packaging: Loctite UK 8101 is available in a 24 kg variant. 15 to 25 °C, storage period is 12 months in unopened original packaging.

  • Component B: Recommended storage temperature is 15 to 30 °C, storage period is 12 months in unopened original packaging.
