    Loctite SI 5980 (formerly known as Loctite 5980, IDH 2327036) is a one-component silicone sealant designed for sealing metal flanges and pressed metal parts. This sealant cures at room temperature in the presence of atmospheric moisture and is intended for applications where filling larger joints and resistance to oils and other industrial chemicals is required. Its ability to fill joints up to 25 mm makes it an ideal solution for heavy industry and automotive applications. lubricants and other industrial fluids

  • Flexibility and durability even in demanding conditions

    • Technical parameters:

    • Technology: RTV silicone type: Alkoxy silicone
    • Appearance: Black thixotropic paste
    • Density: 1.2 – 1.4 g/cm?
    • Viscosity: Thixotropic paste
    • Temperature range: -55 °C to +200 °C
    • Curing: 24 hours at 25 °C and 50% relative humidity. Chemicals: High resistance to oils, greases, water/glycol 50/50

    Application: Loctite SI 5980 is designed for use in industrial and automotive applications:

    • Automotive: Sealing of housings against temperatures and chemicals
    • Mechanical engineering: Sealing of flanges and pressed metal parts exposed to vibration and movement
    • Maintenance and repair: Ideal for sealing during repairs of machinery and equipment in harsh industrial conditions

    Typical properties: Black thixotropic paste, surface cure in 15–45 minutes

  • After curing: Flexible, resistant to vibration and mechanical stress, high chemical resistance to oils and greases

    • Use in application:

    1. surface:For thorough degreasing and removal of dirt, use Loctite SF 7070 cleaner, which ensures gentle .

      Removing old material:For easy and quick removal of old sealant or adhesive residues, apply Loctite SF 7200, which effectively breaks up the bond and facilitates material removal.

    2. Work:After application is complete, use Loctite SF 78. This biodegradable cleaner removes oils, greases and other contaminants.
