Loctite 8040 is a special freeze spray - a mineral oil-based shock release agent that is ideal for releasing rusted, corroded and seized components and threaded connections. Loctite 8040 freeze spray works on the principle of shock freezing, instantly cooling the component to -43 °C. This rapid shock cooling of the material causes microscopic cracks in the rust layer and the lubricating additives can capillaryly rise directly into the rust layer.

·Remove loose dirt and rust. Spray onto the surface to be released for 5 - 10 seconds from a distance of 10 - 15 cm. · Wait 1 - 2 minutes and release the joint.
·If the release is exceptionally unsuccessful, repeat the application.
