Loctite 9497 is a two-component, medium viscosity epoxy adhesive that cures at room temperature and bonds a wide range of materials. It is therefore suitable as a general purpose adhesive. Hysol Loctite 9497 is ideal for applications where heat dissipation is required, such as bonding metal sheets for high temperature heat exchangers or potting electrical components. Instructions for use:

1. For best bonding results, the surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and degreased.
2. Before use, it is necessary to mix the components in the volume or weight ratio as indicated in the Product Description section. When mixing by hand, measure the required amount of resin and hardener and mix together thoroughly. Mix for about 15 seconds after the product has achieved a uniform color.
3. Do not mix more than 4 kg of product at a time, otherwise undesirable heat will develop.
4. After mixing, apply the product as quickly as possible to one of the surfaces to be bonded. To obtain maximum bond strength, spread the product evenly over both surfaces. The components should be joined immediately after application of the mixed adhesive.
5. The pot life of the mixed adhesive is 3 to 4 hours at 22°C. Higher temperatures and smaller quantities of product will shorten the pot life.
6. Prevent possible movement of the assembled components during the curing of the product. The bonded joint should be left undisturbed until it has gained full strength before the components are put into service.
7. Uncured product overflow can be wiped up with organic solvents.
8. After use, before the adhesive hardens, clean mixing and application equipment with hot.
