Loctite 3499 - exhaust repair kit is designed to seal large cracks in exhausts. The set contains 130g of highly resistant sealant and 1 meter of high-temperature resistant glass fabric. With the help of this kit, it is possible to repair not only small cracks, but also larger holes and other more extensive damage to exhaust systems quite easily and reliably. The special exhaust sealant Loctite 3499 can also be used if the exhaust is not damaged. If the sealant is diluted with water, it can be used as a coating for preventive protection of the exhaust. Instructions for repairing an exhaust with the Loctite 3499 set:
1 Brush or glass paper to remove corrosion and mud. Moisten the surface with water.
2. Cover the repaired area with a thin layer of sealant.
3. Cut the required length of bandage fabric and carefully wrap it around the part of the exhaust to be repaired. Make sure that the threads overlap.
4. Secure the bandage with wire.
5. Cover the bandage evenly with a sufficient layer of sealant. Smoothing the surface of the sealant is possible after moistening it with water. The bandage must be completely covered.
6. Let the engine run for about 30 minutes, the sealant will harden with heat. Do not increase the engine speed until the sealant is completely hardened.
