Product detailed description

Loctite EA 3425 (also known as Loctite 3425) - IDH 254040

Catalog number: 33356 / IDH: 254040

Loctite 3425 is a two-component, room temperature curing, thixotropic compound. It is a non-sag, general purpose adhesive that provides high strength on a wide range of substrates. The thixotropic nature of Loctite 3425 allows for the bonding of thick vertical surfaces on metal, ceramic, rigid plastic or wood components. brass, masonry, wood

  • For vertical application with long pot life
  • This product:

    • Loctite 96001 or using adapter
    • We recommend purchasing replacement mixing nozzles Loctite 984569
    • Handling strength in 240 min
    • Possibility time of the mixed mixture 120 min
    • Full cure at 22°C: 24 hours

    Physical properties:

  • Thermal conductivity coefficient - 0.28 W/(mK)
  • Tensile strength: 27 N/mm2
  • Compressive strength: 65 N/mm2
  • Shore hardness: 70 to 8
  • Viscosity 1000 Pa.s / does not flow
  • Very good for bonding - (Shear strength):

    • Steel: 25 to 30
    • Stainless steel: 10 to 12.5
    • Steel with galvanic treatment (HD): 11 to 16
    • Chromate zinc: 12 to 15
    • Brass: 9 to 15
    • Phenol: 2.5 to 3.5
    • ABS: 0.4 to 0.5
    • Wood: 8 to 14

Loctite 3425 has the following properties:

    • Technology: Epoxy
    • Appearance: Yellowish-white paste
    • Components: Two - resin and hardener
    • hardener 1: 1
    • Application: Bonding

    Instructions for use:

    1. For best bonding results, the surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and degreased.
    2. The resin is required before use. The product can be applied directly from the twin cartridges via the supplied static mixer. In this case, squeeze the first 3 to 5 cm into waste. When using a larger product, mix both components thoroughly in the exact ratio by volume or weight as stated in the product description. When mixing by hand, weigh or measure the required amount of resin and hardener and mix them vigorously. Mix for about 15 seconds after you have obtained a uniform color of the product.
    3. We recommend not mixing more than 4 kg of product at a time due to the generation of unwanted heat and overheating during the reaction of both components.
    4. After mixing, apply the product as quickly as possible to one of the surfaces to be bonded. To obtain maximum bond strength, spread the product evenly over both surfaces. The parts should be joined immediately after applying the mixed adhesive.
    5. A higher temperature and a smaller amount of product processed shorten the pot life.
    6. Prevent possible movement of the assembled parts during the curing of the product. The bonded joint should be left undisturbed until it has gained full strength before the components are put into service.
    7. The flow of uncured product can be wiped up with organic solvents (e.g. Acetone).
    8. After use, before the adhesive hardens, clean the mixing and application tools.

    981167 - IDH-254040

The two-component multi-purpose adhesive Loctite 3425 is intended primarily for bonding metals, ceramics, rigid plastics, wood and others (masonry, wood, ABS, etc.). After mixing, it cures at room temperature, on a wide range of substrates and parts that require a longer time for accurate positioning. Due to its thixotropic nature, it does not flow from the application site and is suitable for bonding thick vertical surfaces of parts with a size joints up to 3 mm. materials.

For the best bonding result, the bonded surfaces should be clean and degreased. Where aqueous solutions are used to clean the surfaces before bonding, it is important to check the compatibility of the cleaning solution and the product. In some cases, aqueous solutions can adversely affect the curing and properties of the product.
