Loctite 542 is an excellent medium strength hydraulic sealant used as a low viscosity adhesive for securing metal pipes and fittings. It is a low viscosity acrylic sealant that is particularly suitable as a hydraulic sealant for:
·sealing of metal joints with fine threads,
·sealing for hydraulic and pneumatic distribution and installations,
·bonding of small fittings and 64 metals. /> Threaded hydraulic sealant for fittings Loctite 542 is a single-component brown liquid, has anaerobic curing in the joint, allows easy application on vertical surfaces (thixotropic nature) and prevents loosening and leakage of the joint caused by vibrations and shocks.
Dismantling of the threaded connection is possible with common hand tools. However, if the bonded contact surfaces are too long or the thread diameter is over 24 mm, it is advisable to disassemble the joint while it is hot by heating it locally to a temperature of approx. 250 °C.

LOCTITE 542 is designed for securing and sealing metal pipes and pipe threaded parts. This product cures in the gap in the absence of air between closely adjacent metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leaks caused by shock and vibration. The thixotropic nature of LOCTITE 542 reduces product runoff after application to parts.
