Loctite 408 is a clear instant adhesive, particularly suitable for ABS and polycarbonate materials. This adhesive is designed for demanding and specific applications where a strong and transparent bond with an aesthetic appearance, minimal odor and limited blooming is required. It can be used, for example, as an odorless adhesive for steel, ABS, polycarbonate, with moisture resistance and without irritants. In general, it can be used to quickly bond porous and absorbent materials such as wood, paper, leather or textiles. For bonding polyolefins, Loctite 770 primer is required. Loctite 408 adhesive has been further improved and now has a very low viscosity of 5 mPa, making it a capillary instant adhesive. Technical parameters include a viscosity of 5 mPa, a maximum joint width of 0.1 mm and a temperature range from -40 °C to +80 °C.

The adhesive is designed for a wide range of materials, including metals, plastics and elastomers, and is ideal for bonding porous and absorbent materials such as wood, paper. Its curing speed depends on the relative humidity of the air. For maximum performance, it is recommended to thoroughly clean and degrease the surfaces before bonding. For bonding plastics with low surface tension, it is recommended to use Loctite 770 or 7239 primer.
