Product detailed description

Loctite 262 is designed for permanent fastening and sealing of threaded joints. The product cures without air in the gap between bonded metal surfaces and prevents loosening or leakage of the joint caused by vibration and shock. Typical applications include fastening and sealing of large bolts up to M36. The thixotropic nature of Loctite 262 prevents it from running off the application site. The joint is difficult to disassemble, it is recommended for all metals.

Surface preparation:

• Clean the bonded parts thoroughly with Loctite SF 72 cleaner

  The medium to high strength threadlocker Loctite 262 is designed for permanent fastening (fixing and sealing large screws up to M36). The joint is difficult to disassemble after use. Loctite cures in the joint without air access and prevents loosening or leakage of the joint caused by vibrations and shocks. Loctite 262 is suitable for all metals.

  The thixotropic nature ensures that the product does not run from the application site.

  Not recommended:

  • for use in pure oxygen or oxygen-rich oxidation material systems;
  • for use on plastics (especially not thermoplastics where stress cracking may occur);

  Where aqueous solutions are used to clean surfaces prior to bonding, it is important to check the compatibility of the cleaning solution and the product. In some cases, aqueous solutions may adversely affect the curing and properties of the product.

LOCTITE® 262 is a red, universal, silent, universal, silent, universal and silent strength. Handling strength on steel is in 15 min., on brass in 8 min. and on stainless steel in 180 min. It is fluorescent under UV light for easy monitoring. Therefore it is ideal for applications where leakage of the adhesive from the joint must be prevented. It tolerates light contamination with industrial oils. Suitable for all metal joints.
