Loctite 242 is a single-component, medium-strength blue threadlocker that is suitable for use up to a maximum thread size of M36. It is specially developed to secure strong screw connections in food processing facilities where direct contact with food is excluded (NSF category P1). Loctite 242 acrylic adhesive is suitable for applications on less active materials such as plated, coated and galvanized surfaces, and wherever permission is required with common hand tools.
The advantage of Loctite 242 threadlocker is its thixotropic viscosity, which allows for application overhead without dripping from the application site. The product cures without air access and prevents loosening or leakage of the joint caused by vibrations and shocks:

We recommend cleaning the parts with Loctite 242 first using Loctite 7063 or Loctite 7061 joint cleaner. At temperatures below 5°C, use the activator beforehand.
