The seals of the 6001 bearing are made of oil-resistant and abrasion-resistant rubber, which is vulcanized to a metal reinforcement and are pressed into grooves in the outer ring. There is a very narrow gap between the sealing lip and the surface of the inner ring, which essentially creates a contactless seal.
