Product detailed description
Thomsit Chemoprene for floors Area of application High-quality, extremely strong contact adhesive, containing solvents. Suitable for gluing and underlaying PVC coverings in strips and pieces, rubber coverings with a smooth, sanded back, stair and skirting profiles and linoleum coverings, cork and underlaying textile coverings in joints on concrete, cement, screed and other substrates. It is wheelchair-resistant, suitable for underfloor heating. Also for gluing stairs, walls and ceilings. Not suitable for gluing hardened PVC, polyethylene, polypropylene, Teflon, and expanded polystyrene. Beware of damage to softened CV coverings by the solvent! For bonding to Thomsit FF 69, use only Thomsit K 188 or K 188 E dispersion adhesives. Properties very high adhesion high final strength immediately loadable density adjustment possible with Pattex Chemoprene thinner resistant to cleaning agents easy to process and low Preparation of the substrate The substrates must be flat, permanently dry, clean, free of cracks and release agents, strong in tension and pressure according to ČSN 744505. Level out unevenness with a suitable Thomsit leveling compound. Always coat mastic asphalt screeds and non-absorbent substrates with a min. 2 mm thick layer of Thomsit leveling compound. Pay attention to the instructions for use, especially the degree of maturity for laying. Porous or excessively absorbent substrates and walls should be coated at least once with Chemoprene Na Podlahy adhesive diluted with Chemoprene Thinner in a ratio of 2:1 and allowed to dry before bonding. Application Apply the adhesive to a dry, degreased and dust-free surface. Apply on one side to a larger area in a thin layer with a notched trowel A2, A3 or roller and press the glued covering into the adhesive layer so that the back of the covering is wetted. When gluing corks, stair profiles and skirting boards, when gluing to walls and ceilings, the adhesive is applied to both sides of both glued surfaces. Mix the adhesive well before use. Let the applied layer of adhesive air out for about 10 minutes, then place the glued part and press firmly. The adhesive must be completely aired out, no adhesive residues should stick to your fingers when you touch them! After reaching the final strength, you can start with any further processing of the floor. Don't overlook it! We recommend not mixing the new formula of Chemoprene for Floors with the original formula. Use only Pattex Chemoprene Thinner for dilution! The flash-off time and open time depend on the temperature and relative humidity of the air. They shorten with rising temperature and falling air humidity, and lengthen with falling temperature and rising air humidity. Observe a max. open time of 10–30 minutes. When gluing over the entire surface, when gluing skirting boards, profiles and on absorbent walls, the open time can be half as long. In this case, apply a thorough primer with the Na Podlahy and Pattex Chemoprén Thinners mixtures (see preparation of the substrate) and let it dry thoroughly. Apply the Chemoprén Na Podlahy adhesive itself to the substrate prepared in this way. The adhesive must not dry out, otherwise the glued material will partially fall off! Chemoprene Floor Glue is not suitable for gluing cork boards with PVC treatment on the back (Cork–o–Plast), in this case use Chemoprene Universal or dispersion glue Thomsit K 188. Do not store the glue for a long time below +6 °C. Do not work with the glue at floor temperatures below +6 °C. If the glue forms a solid mass or jelly due to low temperatures, leave it to cool freely (not with an open flame) at min. 20 °C back to its original state. The quality of the glue remains unchanged. Thick glue can be diluted with Pattex Chemoprene Thinner to the desired density. Dilution beyond the original consistency may reduce the bonding effect. This material and its packaging must be disposed of as hazardous waste. Prevent release into the environment. See special instructions on the packaging or safety data sheets. Cleaning: Immediately after finishing work with the adhesive, clean the work tools with Pattex Chemoprén Thinner, carefully remove fresh stains on work clothes with petrol. Dried stains on textiles and other contaminated materials can be removed with Pattex Chemoprén Thinner or technical petrol. First aid: In case of contact with the skin, wash with soap and water, treat with a suitable regeneration cream. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse under running water for about 15 minutes and seek medical attention. In case of ingestion, rinse the mouth, drink 1–2 glasses of water and seek medical attention and show the product packaging. Do not induce vomiting! In case of inhalation, remove the affected person from the contaminated environment.
